Feature update: Your inspection reports get a make over

At myInspections, we know the PDF report is the bit that really matters. We were surprised to see that in April alone, 55% of inspections resulted in a PDF being generated. It’s the thing you send to landlords, tenants, or clients — so it needs to be clear, reliable, and professional.

That’s why we’ve given reports a refresh. We fixed a few of the rough edges, and while we were at it, added some of the features you’ve been asking for.


What We Fixed


We heard you — some parts of the old reports could be clunky or inconsistent. So we:
  • Tightened up formatting: No more awkward page breaks, missing media, or blank gaps.
  • Improved photo display: Images now render consistently and with clearer numbering.
  • Simplified signatures: The signature section only appears when it’s actually needed.
These fixes make reports look more polished and reliable every time you generate them.

What’s New


Alongside the fixes, we introduced several new features that came directly from your requests:
  • Table of contents & summary page – navigate quickly and see at a glance which areas need attention.
  • Tenant feedback section – tenant notes are now clearly separated, so their voice doesn’t get lost in the detail.
  • Maintenance to-do appendix – every action item flagged during the inspection is now pulled together in one place.
  • Branded cover pages & logos – available on Manager and Team plans, so your reports reflect your business, not ours.

Side-by-Side: Old vs New


Sometimes seeing is believing. Here are a few examples showing how the new reports improve on the old format:

First page comparison

In the old report, things jumped straight into the inspection details without much structure. That made it harder to quickly see what the report was about, or to find the right section.


The new report now starts with:
  • A clean cover page with all the key details (property, date, inspector, landlord, tenant) to give the report a more professional look.
  • A table of contents so readers can jump straight to the area they’re interested in.
  • A summary page showing at a glance which areas are all good and which need attention.
These changes make the report easier to use for landlords, tenants, and clients — and give it a polished, professional feel right from the start.

Kitchen layout comparison


In the old report, new rooms often started halfway down a page, which made the flow feel a bit messy and could cause readers to miss where one area ended and the next began.


In the new reports, every room now starts on a fresh page. This keeps the design tidy and makes it obvious when you’re moving to a new space.

We’ve also improved the way information is presented:
  • Notes and to-dos sit right under the room title, so they’re easy to find.
  • Tasks that need attention are styled differently, making it clear what actions need to be taken.
These changes make it much easier for landlords, tenants, and clients to read through the report without missing important details.

Tenant feedback comparison


In the old reports, tenant notes were mixed into the general inspection notes. This made it harder to tell which comments came from the inspector and which came from the tenant.

In the new reports, tenant feedback has its own dedicated section. This makes it crystal clear when a note has come directly from the tenant, giving their voice proper visibility in the report.

By separating this out, everyone reviewing the report can easily see what’s been raised by the tenant and act on it if needed.

New summary and appendix pages


In the old reports, you had to read through each room to get a sense of the overall condition, and maintenance tasks were scattered throughout the document.


The new reports make this much easier by adding two dedicated sections:

  • Summary page – right up front, you get a simple table showing which areas are fine and which ones need attention. It gives landlords, tenants, and clients a quick snapshot without needing to scroll through the whole report.
  • Maintenance appendix – at the end of the report, every to-do from across the inspection is pulled together into one clear list. No more hunting through different rooms to find what needs fixing.
Together, these pages make the report easier to digest and much more actionable.
